Daniel F. Carter
SUFFOLK—Daniel Fleming Carter, 55, died Sept. 2, 2009.
He was born in Roanoke, the son of the late Marie Falls Carter and Sidney Fleming Carter.
Mr. Carter worked as a lieutenant for Western Tidewater Regional Jail. He was a member of Somerton Friends Meeting and the Masonic Lodge in Windsor.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Iris Yvonne Holland Carter; daughter, Daphne Lorrain Carter; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel James and Rebecca Marie Carter, Samuel Fleming and Marion Mendoza Carter; grandchildren, Keri, Sydney, and Caitlyn Carter; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbi and Andy Anderson, Pat Davenport, and Frances and Gary Smith.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, Suffolk, with PatThames officiating.
Burial will follow in Somerton Friends Meeting Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
