Willie C. Johnson Sr.
ZUNI—Willie C. “W.S.” Johnson Sr. died Aug. 27, 2009, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Hampton.
Mr. Johnson, better known as ‘W.S.’ by family and friends, served his country in the United States Army for 17 years and was honorably discharged in 1992.
Survivors include one son, Willie Caffeenia Johnson Jr.; one daughter, Alana Diaz Hines; three grandsons, Jamarris Lankford, Willie Johnson III and Anthony Hines; one granddaughter, Wisdom Marie Hines; four brothers, Russell Johnson of Norfolk; Dwanye M. Johnson (Karin) of Ahoskie, N.C.; Raymond W. Johnson (Diana) of Capron; Nathan G. Johnson of Suffolk; one sister, Lorraine Johnson of Capron; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at St. Paul Holiness Church, located on Thomas Wood Trail in Zuni. Pastor Early Gay will be officiating.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their acts of kindness shown during their bereavement.
