BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Rose N. Scott, 84, died Aug. 24, 2009, at Kings County Hospital.
She was a native of Southampton County and the daughter of the late Walter Scott and Josephine Mason. She was born and raised on the “Old Jake Scott Farm” in Courtland on Country Club Road.
She attended Days Gate School on Country Club Road and Story Station. She also attended Hayden High School for one year.
She was a member of O’Berry AME Zion Church.
She migrated to New York City and married Junice Mack Bowers. She was a homemaker and worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yard manufacturing paracchutes.
She was the sister of six brothers, Herbert, McKinley, Whelan, Mark, Jake and Edward and seven sisters, Ophelia, Beatrice, Katherine, Ella, Mary Laura, Ruth and Faye.
She was also predeceased by her children, Venita Hodges, Rosalyn Bowers, Walter Bowers and Sherman Bowers.
Survivors include a son, Claude Scott and a host of family in the Hunterdale area.
A funeral service was held Sunday at Vaughan Funeral Home in Franklin.
Interment followed in O’Berry Church Cemetery.
