Rose E. Kitchen
FRANKLIN—Rose Ella Kitchen, 87, a longtime resident of Southampton Memorial Hospital East Pavilion, died Aug. 26, 2009.
She was the youngest of 12 children of the late Virginia and George Dunlow and was the widow of George Kitchen.
Mrs. Kitchen was a longtime member of Burdette Baptidst Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Louise Mears of Courtland, Gracie Vargo and husband John C. Vargo Jr. of Franklin, Lizzie Darden of Carrsville and Ella Grizzard of Drewryville; one son, Johnny L. Kitchen and wife Jo Anne L. Kitchen of Franklin; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Larry Cribb officiating. Interment will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society c/o Ms. Kathy Worrell, 717 Fairview Drive, Franklin, VA 23851.
