Woodrow W. Rogers Jr.
FRANKLIN—Woodrow Wilson “Woody” Rogers Jr., died Aug. 20, 2009.
Mr. Rogers was born July 31, 1939, in Capron to the late Woodrow Wilson Rogers Sr. and Rosa Ridley Rogers.
He received his early education from Franklin City public schools. He graduated from Hayden High School class of 1959.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Rogers Hendricks.
Survivors include his children, Brian Rogers, Adrianne Guidry (Terry) and Keith Rogers (Ashanta); grandchildren, Tiara, Tayania, Kemond and Peyton, all of Franklin; brothers, Ezekiel Rogers (Anna) and John Rogers (Nellie) of Franklin; sisters, Beatrice Hendricks (Mitchell) and Rosa Boyd, both of Franklin, Hazel Perkins (William) of Matoaca and Christine Pottger (Frederick) of Effort, Pa.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Elvin Vaughan Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Henry Blunt officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Drewryville.
