COURTLAND—Robert Marion “Bobby” Broocke, 66, died Aug. 20, 2009, at East Pavilion.
He was born in North Carolina, a son of the late Marian Pulley and Joel Robert Broocke, and reared in Boykins.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Carole Grizzard Broocke, and a brother, Harry Broocke.
Mr. Broocke was retired from Electric Motors and Contractors Inc. after 25 years of service and was a member of Vincent’s Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Swann Burgess Broocke; two daughters, Deborah B. Goreham (Rob) of Columbia, Calif. and Jennifer B. Wandishin (Nicholas) of Eustis, Fla.; three step-sons, Mark Bradshaw (Carol) of Suwanee, Ga., Timothy Bradshaw (Becky), of Harlingen, Texas and Dana Bradshaw (Toni) of Quinton; three grandchildren Kindall Wandishin, Melisa Goreham and Jessica Bradshaw; three step-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Capron Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Vornov officiating.
A reception will be held following the service at Vincent’s Grove UMC, Buckhorn Quarter Road, Courtland.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
