AUTRYVILLE, N.C.—Matoka Jackson, 85, died Aug. 19, 2009, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Jackson, a native of Sampson County, was the daughter of the late William A. McLamb and Jennie Strickland McLamb.
She was a member of Piney Green Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors are: her husband of 64 years, Robert E. Jackson of the home; a daughter, Patricia J. Swindell and husband E. Thomas of Wakefield; a grandson, Gary T. Swindell and wife Emily of Charlotte, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Ashley N. Swindell of Wakefield and Hunter T. Swindell of Charlotte; and a brother, W. L. “Buddy” McLamb and wife Estelene of Salemburg, N.C.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Piney Green Baptist church in Salemburg with the Rev. Donald Keith Carter officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
