FREDERICKSBURG—Thomas Arthur Baldwin, 50, died July 30, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Bethesda, Md., he was the son of William Thomas and Helen S. Baldwin.
Mr. Baldwin was a graduate of Stafford High School, and enjoyed a long successful career as an automobile salesman, having worked for Radley Chevrolet for over 25 years.
He loved sports, especially the Washington Redskins, as well as boating and eating crabs.
An avid animal lover, he devoted much of his time to volunteering at local animal shelters.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Candy Burgess and husband Randy of Courtland; two brothers, both of California, Sonny Baldwin and wife Kelly, and Billy Baldwin; stepmother, Laura Baldwin; stepsisters, Gaynel McGill, Cheryl McCary and Joyette Cole; stepbrother, Daniel McCary; special friend, Jeannie Duris; his beloved kitty, Chloe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service was conducted Tuesday in the chapel of Laurel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Amos Healy officiating.
Interment followed in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
A second service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter, 450 TV Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408; the Kincheloe Spay/Neuter Clinic, 452 TV Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 or to the animal shelter of choice.
Laurel Hill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
