Thanks given to friend, prayer

Over three years ago I fell and broke my hip where I now live in East Pavilion Nursing Home in the awning room, the large dining room where I eat my meals.

It was about 6:30 a.m. Lydia Griggs and I were taking our morning walk together. I lived in 111B and she lived in 112A. We were moving chairs to each table for the patients up here to sit down in. I could not get up off of the floor. Right away Lydia went to the nurses station and got help for me.

I was taken to the emergency room, where Dr. Manish Patel later had to operate on me because I had broken my left hip. Many people prayed for me. My pastor, Chad Brady of Capron Baptist Church, where I have been a member for a lot of years, told me this. The other members of this church prayed for me also; lots of people here in East Pavilion prayed with me and for me.

I love Jesus and God so very much. After his episode in my life I have started my ministry in the south dining room. I do this service between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m. seven days a week. I have learned that prayers work. They did for me and they will for others if only they will love the Lord and other people also. Thank you, Lydia, for always being there for me when I needed you to help me through this episode.
