Attempted robbery suspect sought

FRANKLIN—Franklin police are searching for the suspect in an attempted armed robbery at the Kangaroo gas station on Armory Drive early Saturday morning.
According to police, the suspect entered the building at approximately 5:20 a.m. wearing a ski mask. He pointed a silver and black pistol at the clerk and demanded money.
The clerk told the suspect to wait because she had to go to the other cash register, as she was walking to the other register the clerk pressed the panic button.
The suspect then fled without getting any money in an unknown vehicle heading east towards Suffolk on the Highway 58 bypass.
The suspect is described as approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighing about 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and a gray ski mask.
