Thomas J. Edwards
SUFFOLK—Thomas J. Edwards, 57, died July 16, 2009, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of Ruby A. Edwards of Suffolk, and the late Melvin O. Edwards.
One sister, Jacqueline Hillard and two brothers, Melvin Edwards and Leon Edwards preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby A. Edwards of Suffolk; two sisters, Joyce Edwards and Eloise Knight (Rodgie) both of Suffolk; two brothers, Timothy Edwards (Barbara) of Franklin and Glenn Edwards of Suffolk; four aunts, Evelyn Collins (William C.), Annie Wiggins, Annie Edwards, and Ethel Langston; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service was held Monday at Palm Tree Baptist Church, Suffolk, officiated by Pastor Anthony Sommerville and Minister Trina Jones.
Interment was in Langston Cemetery.
