Thursday was a perfect night for the weekly faithfuls of “We Be Jammin” at Barrett’s Landing Park in downtown Franklin.

The Janitors of Virginia Beach blasted a diverse mix of music on a night that needed rain was predicted but never materialized.

Downtown Franklin Association Manager Dan Howe said that may have hampered the attendance, which was estimated at 515.

“We have been getting in the 700 range, especially for our local bands”, he added, noting he was still pleased with the turnout.

Doug Rogers and cousin Charlotte Rasnake , who proudly announced that she was 72 years young, remarked that they love good music and it runs in the family. Their grandfather Ben Davis played the fiddle.

Also in the boogeying mood were Tracey Paul and Larry Davis.
