John Price Jr.
SUFFOLK—John Price Jr., 50, of the 2100 block of Kentucky Ave., died Wednesday, July 8, 2009. He was a native of Ivor, and the son of Lucy M. Price and the late John Price Sr.
He attended Southampton County Public Schools. He was employed at Ferguson Manufacturing and was also a newspaper carrier for The Virginian-Pilot. He was a member of Mission of Deliverance COGIC.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lola Price; one daughter, LaTonia Goodwyn of Suffolk; three sons, Shavis Holloman of Newport News, Ricky Goodwyn and LaTroy Goodwyn of Suffolk; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Angela Lane and Deborah Powell (the Rev. Kenneth Powell), both of Zuni, JoAnne Jenkins (the Rev. Charles Jenkins) of Smithfield, and Sandra Tyler (Ronald) of Ivor; three brothers, Herbert Price (Nichole) of Petersburg, Va., Melvin Price (Gloria) of Wakefield, Va., and Michael Price (Bryonna); a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Mission of Deliverance COGIC, 6560 Crumpler Road, Ivor, with Elder Elbert Louis Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Binns Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence and will also assemble there Monday at 12:30 p.m. for the procession to the church.
The body will be placed in the church at 12:30 p.m. Crocker Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements.
