Lucille B. Thomas
HAMPTON—Lucille B. Thomas, 73, died July 2, 2009.
She retired as an LPN, McDonald Army Hospital at Fort Eustis in 1989, after 22 years of service.
Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Southampton County Training School in Courtland; a faithful member of Queen Street Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess; also was a member of the Star Club Missionary Circle, The Young at Heart and The Tidewater Prince Hall Chapter #24.
In addition, she was a life member of the NAACP.
Those who left before her was her husband, William M. Thomas Sr.; her parents, Ulysses and Jannie Boone; her sisters, Bertha Causer, Cecelia Francis; and one brother, Ulysses Boone Jr.
Survivors include her three children, William M. Thomas Jr. (Kay); Narona T. Brown, and Lisa Richmond (Warren), all of Hampton; two grandchildren, Marissa and Trent Richmond; sisters, Roberta Allen, Daisy Washington, and Bettie Wynn; two brothers, John Boone and Robert Boone; many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her name to Queen Street Baptist Church.
A homegoing service will be at noon today at Queen Street Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Anderson W. Clary Jr.
She will be placed in the church two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will assemble by 11 a.m. today at 703 Downing St.
