Walmart thief sought

FRANKLIN-The Franklin Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in identifying a suspect responsible for the theft of goods from Wal-Mart.

At 11:34 p.m. on June 9, a man entered Wal-Mart on Armory Drive and placed two Sharp 42-inch LCD televisions worth $1,596 into a shopping cart. The suspect then left through an emergency exit and left in a vehicle parked just outside the door.

This suspect is believed to be responsible for similar thefts from several Hampton Roads Wal-Mart stores. The suspect usually leaves the store through the lawn and garden area or through an emergency exit.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Franklin Police Department at 562-8575 or Franklin Crime Solvers at 562-8599. Information that leads to an arrest can earn the caller a cash reward.
