To the Editor:

Please don’t tell the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, but I have committed an inhumane act.

In a moment of weakness, I sent a fly on to “Fly Heaven.”

I feel no remorse. I do not feel guilty. This fly has annoyed me for more than a week.

At no time would I have attempted to catch this creature in a trap and then released it, only to return, continuing to annoy and spread its bacteria.

I hope we hear what President Barack Obama did with the trap PETA sent to him.

Editor’s note: When asked by the media what they thought of President Obama swatting and killing a fly during a recent television interview, PETA officials offered to send Obama one of its “handy-dandy bug catchers” to help prevent another fly’s death.
