VIRGINIA BEACH—Harry John Williams Jr., 85, died June 19, 2009.
Mr. Williams was an electrician by trade, and most of his life he worked two full time jobs.
He overcame many obstacles to become successful. He was a hard-working, industrious, self-motivated individual who could do almost anything.
His hobbies were family and work. In his last years he battled Alzheimer’s at Baypointe Medical Rehab.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 1/2 years, Elsie Smith Williams; four children, Elaine Wall, Jimmy Williams, Juanita Lutz and Johnny Williams; 15 grandchildren, 40 greatgrandchildren with four more on the way; two sisters, Frances Ceslar and Vivian Marie Robinson; and two chihuahua companions, Dandelion and Goldie.
He was predeceased by parents, John and Lucy Johnson Williams, infant daughter, Dorothy, great-granddaughter, Ginny Ulmer and sister, Stella Mae Whitehurst.
A memorial service will be held at Black Creek Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Thursday.
