School board appointments on hold until July

FRANKLIN-Citizens will have to wait a little longer to find out who will represent them on the city school board.

School board appointments were scheduled to take place during the City Council’s Monday night meeting, but they have been delayed until the July 13 meeting.

“The reason for it is that all council members cannot be here due to other circumstances and we wanted everyone to be present,” Mayor Jim Councill said.

Vice Mayor Raystine Johnson and Ward 1 representative Barry Cheatham did not attend Monday’s meeting.

Councill said the full City Council will hold a closed meeting on July 6 to discuss the nominees.
