SMITHFIELD—Amanda Malvina Moore Green, 84, died June 15, 2009, at James River Convalescent, Newport News.
Born in Poquoson, she was the daughter of the late James and Amanda Watkins Moore.
She was a homemaker and a dedicated member of Smithfield Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Green is preceded in death by her husband, Dargon Green Jr.; a sister, Sara; and three brothers, Vernon, Garland and Thomas.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Naomi Green Wills and husband Steve, of Windsor; two sons, James “Jim” William Green and wife Linda and Paul E. Green, all of Hampton; two sisters, Estelle Spicer of York County and Genevieve McLeod of Seagrove, N.C.; five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
She had adopted the staff and residents of James River Convalescent Center as her family, as well.
A graveside funeral service was held in St. Luke’s Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jack Perry officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, Relay For Life, c/o Lois R. Little, P.O. Box 4, Rescue, 23424.
