Mary E. Story
COURTLAND—Mary Elizabeth Story, 89, died June 16, 2009.
A native of Southampton County, she was the wife of the late Jasper Story and a daughter of the late Onie and Linwood Fiers.
Mrs. Story was also preceded in death by daughters, Martha Story and Little Sister Story (infant).
She was a member of St. Paul Holiness Church.
Survivors include her daughters Jean Cross of Washington, D.C., Claudia Bowers of Courtland and Mary Mason of Franklin; her son, Herbert Story of Bronx, N.Y.; and her adopted daughter, Curley Morgan of Richmond. To continue her legacy she leaves seven granddaughters, three grandsons, 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Ricks of Sedley and Bessie Flood, of Baltimore, Md.; one sister-in-law, Margaret Fiers of Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Saint Paul Holiness Church in Sedley by Overseer Randolph Warren.
Burial will follow in O’Berry AME Zion Church cemetery.
