Elizabeth S. Wills
WINDSOR—Elizabeth “Betty” Sexton Wills, 88, died June 17, 2009, in Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born in Hamlet, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John W. and Nena L. Sexton.
Mrs. Wills was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a former member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was active in missions, which was her passion.
She traveled to Japan to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church.
She was a former member of the Lakeside Garden Club and enjoyed arranging flowers and painting. For several years she served as a doctor’s assistant.
Survivors include her husband, John R. “Jack” Wills Jr.; children, John R. Wills III; Beverley W. Ruegsegger and husband, Ronald, all of Windsor, William S. Wills and wife Patricia of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Kathryn Wills, John R. Wills IV and wife Lisa, John Ruegsegger, Benjamin Ruegsegger, Clare Ruegsegger, John L. Wills and Alina Wills; great grandchildren, Lexus Wills and Nayelli Ruegsegger; sister, Beverley Hathaway of Suffolk.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church by Dr. Ruffin Alphin. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory Sunday from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
