The Downtown Franklin Association hosted a cookout on Fred’s Patio recently.

This event, entitled “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” was to express appreciation to our local business owners for their commitment to conducting business in historic Downtown Franklin — our local “Paradise”.

Held annually, this year’s event drew a record turnout.

Manning the grill for the evening was DFA Board President Victor Story and DFA Downtown Manager, Dan Howe.

The patio was decorated in an island theme. Attendees were invited to wear island attire and come with a casual attitude. Flip-flops were optional.

Music for the event consisted of beach music and, of course, Jimmy Buffet.

The Downtown Franklin Association thanked the businesses represented for all they do to make Franklin a nice place to work and do business.

The event was part of Virginia Business Appreciation Week.
