Name: Samantha Key

Age: 30

Occupation & Title: Real estate agent with William E. Wood & Associates in Franklin

Spouse’s Name: Walter

Children’s Names & Ages: Emma, 5, and Ethan, 4

Pet I’d like to own: Any pet that can clean up after itself

Favorite movie of all time: “Under the Tuscan Sun”

TV show I never miss: It used to be “ER,” but now it is “Army Wives”

The secret to happiness is: True love

I wish I knew how to: Add more time to a day

If I had to eat only three foods for the rest of my life, they’d be: salad, pasta and chicken. You could easily survive on just those items.

Three words that best describe me: Outgoing, energetic, friendly

One super power I wish I had: Go go gadget arms!

Book currently on my nightstand: “Mommywood” by Tori Spelling. It’s too funny!

My proudest achievement: My children and the family that we have made

My most humbling moment: My husband’s first deployment. I was pregnant with our first child, and thought that it would be a piece of cake. Boy, was I wrong!

My most recent trip: My husband deployed last April to Iraq, and I decided to take my kids on a road trip to visit all of our family. It started with heading to Missouri then down to Oklahoma then back home for a week. Then we headed down to Florida to visit more family and then to Sea World. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. You really know your strengths when you do something like that and actually consider doing it again.

My life won’t be complete until: I think it is pretty close now. I have an awesome loving and supporting husband, wonderful children and a great network of friends and family.

My friends think I’m: Nuts at times, that I take on too much

Favorite color: yellow and green (could not pick just one.)

What’s the best life lesson you’ve learned, and who taught you? The day I found out about my mother’s breast cancer was a very life-changing moment. God taught me really quickly how life, which we all take for granted, changes in the blink of an eye.

What’s the best decision you’ve made in life? Marring my husband. He is the best thing — besides our children — that has happened to me.

Which local charitable or nonprofit organization do you wish more people would support? Any organization that supports children and, given my family history, any cancer-fighting organization.

What gives you the blues? When someone else is sad and there is nothing I can do to help

What’s your most recent venture? Becoming a real estate agent. So far it is more than I could have expected. I just recently decided to switch professions from stay-at-home mom to real estate agent. Our kids are getting older and will be in school all day, so what was I to do? I love to talk and sell homes. It is a perfect fit!
