Earnest Cross
HAMPTON—Earnest Cross, 73, died June 6, 2009.
Born in Southampton County and the son of the late Clyde and Annie Mae Turner Cross, he had worked at several grocery companies during his career; A&P as the meat manager, Safeway, Food Lion and Pantry Pride.
Preceding him in rest is his wife, Irene Cross; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Terri Lynn Blythe and husband Junior of Franklin and Gary Dean Cross and wife Marguerite of Franklin; stepchildren, Terry Elliott and husband Daniel of Hampton, Joseph Ellis of Martinsville, William Ellis and wife Debra of Littleton, N.C. and Mary Ellis of Hampton; one sister, Mildred Clark; one brother, Bobby Cross, 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.
