To the Editor:

These are crucial times for Virginia and our country. We have our federal government running General Motors. We have some of the largest financial institutions in the world gambling away stockholders’ equity and instead of being forced into bankruptcy we bail them out with taxpayers’ money, which in some cases were the very same stockholders whose portfolios disappeared. No wonder people have lost trust in our politicians. They too often will say and do anything to get elected, regardless of how it impacts you and me.

State Sen. Creigh Deeds is running for the Democratic nomination for governor and I can tell you emphatically that this man is different. Deeds is a state senator who was not born into wealth and privilege and left a successful law practice to become a public servant. He has always put the people’s well being before any political parties. He is a fiscal conservative who believes in the Second Amendment, he realizes bringing jobs and industry into Virginia is critical and, most importantly, he does not believe the state begins and ends within the borders of Northern Virginia. He actually knows where Drewryville is and why job creation is so important here.

Deeds will reach across the aisle and work with Republicans and put the citizens of Virginia and their needs before any political party.

Regardless of your party affiliation, put the well-being of our state ahead of political party and vote for Creigh Deeds on Tuesday.
