John L. Sessoms
MURFREESBORO, N.C.—John L. Sessoms, 79, died June 1, 2009, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, N.C.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Sessoms of Murfreesboro; six sons, Anton V. Sessoms, Rudolph M. Gaskins and Frank Parker, all of Murfreesboro; John Sessoms Jr. and Kent Sessoms, both of Durham, N.C., and William Sessoms of Ahoskie, N.C.; three daughters, Shelia D. Sessoms of Murfreesboro, Patricia Leary of Roxobel, N.C. and Diane Johnson of Maryland; two brothers, Vann Sessoms and James Sessoms, both of Ahoskie; two sisters, Annie Green of Winton, N.C. and Willie Mae Williams of Philadelphia, Pa.; 32 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Haven Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, with the Rev. Lloyd Gatling officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is handling arrangements.
