Elizabeth Towberman
WAKEFIELD—Elizabeth Schuder “Mrs. T,” 98, died May 30, 2009.
Born August 7, 1910, in Covington, she was the daughter of the late Harry Meade Schuder and Minnie Brookes Schuder.
Mrs. Towberman was the widow of Leslie L. Towberman.
Survivors include four granddaughters, Viktoria Trgina and husband Lance of Wakefield, Leslie Ann Thomas and husband Carl of New Mexico, Teresa Tranovich and husband John of Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Daughtrey and husband Jim of Fredericksburg; four great-grandchildren; step-son, Frank Towberman of Claremont; niece, Eileen Moyer of Charlottesville; and nephew, Richard Schuder of Mechanicsville. She was a Presbyterian.
“Mrs. T” most loved children. She provided children’s day care in her home for many years. She never had children of her own, but she considered all the little ones under her care as members of her own family. She was a caregiver all her life, tending and taking care of her three brothers and her mother.
A funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Purviance Chapel, J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Burial will follow in the Wakefield Cemetery.
