Michael Lassiter
NEWPORT NEWS—Michael Lassiter, 55, died May 23, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Veritta (Micky) Lassiter; father, James Lassiter and Roscoe (Pua-Pau) Lassiter.
His soulmate, confidant, companion, caregiver, love and friend, Darlene Ridley, sat at his side as he died.
Currently cherishing his memories are: Delilah Cooper Lassiter, wife of his youth, and two daughters, Tarlishia and Tamara Lassiter; two stepdaughters, Nicole and Darshei Ridley; one stepson, Olanda; his mother, Virgie Lassiter, and eight siblings, Bernard Clark of Washington, D.C., Sebrina Lassiter of Hampton, Regina Scott, Carol (Faye) Lassiter, both of Newport News, Sherri (James) Butts of Carrington, W. Donnell (Jewell) Lassiter of Newport News, James B. (Linda) Lassiter of Newport, News and R. Lamont (Nancy) of Murfreesboro, N.C.; his beloved aunt, Fannie and three other aunts, two uncles, with many relatives and friends.
A service was held Friday at Fisher Funeral Home Newport News. The homegoing was to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Restoration & Faith Ministry, Newport News. Pastor Clifton Lassiter, officiating. M.E. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
