India L. Warren
COURTLAND—India Lucille Warren, 85, died May 22, 2009, in Midlothian.
A native of Dendron, she was a housewife and member of Zion Southampton AME Church in Courtland, where she was the retired first lady, a deaconess, Sunday school teacher and member of the Mistral Alliance and Choir.
She was a past member of Eastern Star.
The widow of the Rev. Dr. Lemuel Earl Warren Sr., she is survived by her daughter, Cynthia LaVorne-Davis-Snead of Midlothian; five sons, Lemuel Earl Warren Jr., Curtis Oneil Warren, David Donnell Warren, Orbery Delmore Warren, all of Courtland and Apostle Alger Baldwin Warren of St. Thomas, Virginia Islands; four sisters, Marlvin Stringfield of Norfolk, Nell Roberts of Zuni, Gladys Brown and Phyllis Stokes of Zuni; three brothers, Elliott Eley of Zuni, Ivan Eley of Zuni and Alvernon Eley of Petersburg; grandchildren, Vickie Warren, Lajeanne Boyd, Benita Warren, Lydia Warren, Crystal Barrett, Samuel Davis III, Capt. Gary Warren, Rodney Warren, Technical Sgt. Antwuan Warren, Adrian Warren, Travis Warren, Alger J. Warren, Lemuel E. Warren III and Matthew Warren; brothers-in-law, Marvin Warren, Willie Harrison and James Warren; sisters-in-law, Willie Crocheron, Adelene Cosby, Vivian Warren, Elva Warren, Jesse Mae Warren and Helen Warren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mable Hardy Eley and George Clinton Eley; and grandparents, Chelsa Eley and Lucy Eley, Carter Hardy and Ida Hardy.
A funeral was to be held Saturday at noon in Zion Southampton AME Church with the Rev. Christopher Eason officiating and the Rev. Alger J. Warren, eulogist.
Burial was to follow in Beulah Land AMEZ Church Cemetery.
