Esther M. Ferguson
NORFOLK—Esther Mae Ferguson, 80, died peacefully May 22, 2009, in Norfolk Health Care.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dean Ferguson; son, Lavern Artis; mother, Helen Goodwyn; father, Thomas Goodwyn; and brother, John T. Goodwyn; three sons, Walter Goodwyn of Virginia Beach, Marvin Artis of Norfolk, and Donald Artis of Chesapeake; five daughters, Barbara Knockett of Norfolk, Jacqueline Lewis of Norfolk, Katherine Williams of Norfolk, Debra Jenkins of Franklin and Sharon Parker of Norfolk; sister, Corine Whitfield of Capron and brother, Thomas Lee Goodwyn, Philadelphia; and numerous grandchildren and friends.
The funeral will be held today at noon in Pine Level Baptist Church, Capron. Pastor Keith Rose will officiate with the Rev. Joseph Hassel of New Kindling Baptist Church as the eulogist.
