To the Editor:

Southampton Social Services would like to thank each person, organization and business who helped prepare for and execute our fifth annual Child Abuse Prevention Fair at Food Lion in Courtland.

It was made possible with a lot of effort from many volunteers. Thank you to Virginia State Police, Southampton Sheriff’s Office, Bearpath Acres, Food Lion, Courtland Volunteer Fire Deptartment, Courtland Volunteer Rescue Squad, 3 A’s Inflatables, Cupcake the Clown, Southampton High School Key Club and Rhythm Sensations Cloggers for their part in making the day a success.

A special thank you to Doreena Hewitt for handling all the games, Amy Coggshall for providing the food, Southampton Social Services employees who helped and Toni Nolf for her photography talents at all the fundraising events. Truly, we could not have done it without each of you.

Our goal was to bring families together for a day of fun while throwing in some very needed educational and safety information.

Mission accomplished.

All the children had a wonderful time playing together, and even the parents were caught having a good time.
