Annie I. Carley
CHESAPEAKE—Annie Irene Lynch Carley, 96, died May 10, 2009.
A native of South Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Pierce Lynch and Nina Murray Lynch Richardson and the wife of the late Alfred R. Carley Sr.
She was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Hardy of Cape May, N.J., Frances Covell of Chesapeake and Eunice Crider of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; two sons, Albert A. Carley Sr. of Franklin and Richard E. Carley Sr. and wife; special caregiver, Ruby of Chesapeake; 40 grandchildren; many great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Kathy Cain; and her caregivers, Virginia Meeks and Beverly Lee.
She was preceded in death by two sons, James Carley and Alfred Carley Jr. and two daughters, Elsie Eason and Joanne Cook.
A funeral was held Tuesday in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, with the Rev. David Slayton officiating.
Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
