MILLBROOK, Ala.—Edith S. Duck, 93, formerly of Carrsville, died May 5, 2009, in Prattville Baptist Health.
She was born Nov. 24, 1915 in Carrsville to John Oliver Scott and Sally Lankford Scott.
Mrs. Duck graduated from high school in Carrsville and married Henry P. Duck. They had three sons and lived in Carrsville until 1997, when they moved to Rockford to be near a son.
They were members of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
She had resided at Prattville Health and Rehab Center for the past four years.
Her entire life revolved around caring for her family. She was an excellent cook.
Survivors include her sons, John Prentis Duck (Susan) of Millbrook and the Rev. Wayne Parker Duck (Barbara Ann) of Ark; 10 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Salley Scott Carr of Colosse.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Parker Duck; son, Dennis Duck; and two grandchildren, Steven Wayne Duck and Letitia Diane Duck.
A graveside service was held Friday in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Rockford, Ala., with the Rev. Wayne Henderson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church or Rockford Baptist Church.
Radney Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
