Barbara L. George
CHESAPEAKE—Barbara Lowers George, 79, died May 5, 2009, in her residence.
A native of Oakmont, Pa., she was a receptionist for Portsmouth Social Services and a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, David E. George Jr.; a daughter, Janis Tucker of Portsmouth; two sons, David E. George III of Franklin and Barry W. George and wife Debbie of Suffolk; six grandchildren, David C. George, Kevin M. George, Bryan Tucker and wife Michelle, Jennifer Tucker, Ryan N. George and Joshua A. George; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Tom Potter.
Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
