Eunice M. Peeples
NEWPORT NEWS—Eunice Mae Peeples, died April 30, 2009.
She was born in Boykins on Nov. 30, 1913, to George I. and Gertrude Powell Everett.
For many years, Mrs. Peeples was employed with Birdsong Peanut Company. She was an active member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Shirley Mae Christian; one son, George Raymond Peeples; one sister, Ester Sugars and brother, George Powell Everett.
Survivors include one sister, Rosa Lee Jenkins of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, Brenda Bynum of Hampton, Verneeda Winder, Mark Christian, Vernon Christian, Veronica Richmond, Nicole Lattimore, Anthony Lattimore of Newport News, Felicia Graves of Cincinnati, Ohio; 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Vernell Christian; nieces, nephews and many cousins.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home, with Bishop D. Stefn Adams Sr. delivering the message.
Burial will follow in Shiloh Church Cemetery, Boykins.
