AHOSKIE, N.C.—Gloria A. Wiggins, 47, of the 200 block of Flea Hill Road, died April 27, 2009.
Affectionately known as “Glo” she was born on September 29, 1961 in Northampton County to the late Willis and Doris Wood.
She was a graduate of East Carolina University and an instructor at Roanoke-Chowan Community College.
In addition, she was a faithful member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Robert N. Wiggins Sr. of Ahoskie; her daughter, Tekeyla Thomas Smith (Tyrone) of Rocky Mount, N.C.; her sons, Robert N. Wiggins Jr. (Toya) of Franklin, Jeffrey K. Thomas of Como, N.C., Travis M. Wiggins of Franklin and DeAndre R. Wiggins of the home; three grandsons, Rashad A. Simmons, Nathaniel T. Wiggins and Andrew R. Wiggins; sisters, Clementine Williams (Bennie), Mary Long, Marilyn Harris (Clarence), Dorothy Riddick (Bobby), Darlene Deloatch (Lionel), Ida Wood, Linda Motley, Faye Jordan, Sandra Flythe and Sharon Turner; brothers, Willis H. Wood (Carla), Elliott H. Johnson (Patricia), Wilson Johnson, Tim Turner (Linda), Terry Turner and Curtis Turner (Rachel); an aunt, Ruth Gary of Suffolk; and a host of very special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Wood; and a sister, Linda Lassiter.
A funeral was held Thursday in Nebo Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, N.C.
Hertford County Undertakers was in charge of arrangements.
