Doretha E. Mason
NEWSOMS—Doretha “Doe” Ellen Mason, 82, died April 26, 2009, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Boykins to the late Lillar Blowe and Luke Blowe.
Mrs. Mason was a housewife.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar Mason.
She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church, Boykins, and served on the hospitality committee. She was in the mother of the year in the 90s.
Survivors include five daughters, Mildred Graves, Marian Mason, Barbara Mason, Shirley Randall and Deborah Muhammad; four sons, John Mason, Oscar G. Mason, Alfred Mason and Stephen Mason; two sisters, Martha Lightfoot and Katherine Glenn; and grandchildren, Letitia, Nicole, Xavier, Brandon, Rasaad, Malik, Hakeem, Brianna, Lynnette and Kelvin.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Engram Funeral Home Chapel, Franklin, with the Rev. Dennis Whitfield officiating.
Burial will be in Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery.
