Charles M. Wood
RICHMOND—Charles Michael Wood, 54, died April 27, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his father, Odell Wood.
Survivors include his partner, Peter Gates; mother Esther Wood; sister and brother-in-law Anne and H.B. Bryant of Sedley; brother and sister-in-law Ray and Julita Wood; daughter and son-in-law Erin and Kevin Bruchert; daughter and son-in-law Hilary and Nathan Dwight; three grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A native of the Eastern Shore, he was a wonderfully creative, gifted individual who could teach himself to do just about anything.
He particularly enjoyed playing the piano, reading, gardening, creating stained glass artwork, traveling, and visiting with his daughters and grandchildren.
He was employed at Philip Morris for 20 years.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Bliley Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Ave, Richmond.
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m.
