To the Editor:

The Isle of Wight County School division would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Richard Holland and Farmer’s Bank. His generous support allowed the division to honor our 2009 Teachers of the Year in a manner befitting their achievements.

This is the fourth year that Farmer’s Bank has sponsored the recognition program, hosting a dinner reception and providing gifts of appreciation. In these tough economic times, Holland’s commitment to our teachers, our students and our community should be applauded.

As School Board chairman, I feel fortunate to live and work in a community that has such strong support for the education of our students.
