Gladys B. Eckard
WAVERLY—Gladys Beers Eckard, 88, died April 13, 2009.
A native of Waverly, she was the widow of John P. Eckard.
She was a member of Nansemond River Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Barfield of Suffolk; a sister, Janice Smith; a brother-in-law, Jack Hailer; and a great-grandson, Zolan.
A graveside service was held Thursday in Waverly Town Cemetery by the Rev. Tim Piland.
Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, handled arrangements.
