Adele B. Pond
SEDLEY—Adele Boothe Pond, 95, died April 15, 2009.
She was born in Southampton County on March 13, 1914, and was the widow of Joseph Lee Pond.
She was the daughter of the late Peter G. and Bessie W. Boothe of Southampton County.
She was predeceased by a sister, Esamond B. Cornwell; a brother, William H. Boothe; and a precious grandson, Joey P. Branche.
Survivors include three daughters, Beverly P. Branche (Patrick), Jeanne P. Winslow, and Sandra P. Perschetz (Charles); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pond was an accomplished artist and gardener, and also made the world’s best fried chicken and biscuits.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, with a visitation/reception to follow at the Sedley Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member.
Memorials may be made to Sedley Baptist Church or the Sedley Fire Department.
