SUFFOLK—Maggie Sue Branch Joyner, 88, of Suffolk, died April 7, 2009.
A native of Courtland, she was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin Branch and Maggie Virginia Joyner. She was also predeceased by her husband, Harry Lee Joyner Jr.
Mrs. Joyner formerly worked for Lipton Tea Co. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and attended Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and the Harold West Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy J. and Norman A. Grefe Jr. of Suffolk; son and daughter-in-law, Harry L. Joyner III and Linda M. Joyner of Suffolk; grandchildren, Norman III, Elizabeth, John, Susan, Mark, Michael, Amanda, Jennifer, Alan and Amy; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Annie Bell Harrup of Berlin, Va., and Alice Nell Wills of Windsor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with Dr. Rob Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
