WAVERLY—Janet Padgett Collier, 74, died at her home on March 31, 2009.
Born on Dec. 16, 1934 in Prince George, she was the daughter of the late Isham J. and Geneva Sheffield Padgett.
Mrs. Collier was the widow of Horace Ray Collier, after 55 years of marriage, and a longtime member of Carsley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Barry Collier and wife Hope and their children, Katherine and Timothy Collier, Stuart Collier and wife, Angeliea and their children, Jason and Peyton Collier, Robin Collier Ashworth and husband, Junior, Linda Collier Buhls and husband Wendal and their son, Hunter Buhls; two sisters, Evelyn Foster and Rosa Bristow; two brothers, Earl Padgett and Donald Padgett.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Marvin Padgett, Julia Ann Adams, Ella Mae Cox, Russell Padgett, Isham Joseph Padgett, Jr., and Robert Woodson Padgett.
A funeral service was held Thursday at Carsley United Methodist Church, 5609 Carsley Road, Waverly, with the Rev. Ray Rowland officiating.
Burial followed in Waverly Cemetery.
