Theodore Majette
CHESAPEAKE—Theodore Majette of Deerfield Crescent, Chesapeake, formerly of Holland Trace Apartments, Franklin, died March 27, 2009, while a patient in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Majette was born in Franklin on July 7, 1938, to the late Venton Burgwyn and Magnolia Long “Maggie” Majette.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and a graduate of Hayden High School.
During his quest for education, he attended
Norfolk State University and A&T University. Later he received an Associate’s Degree enabling him to secure employment as a surgical technician at Obici Hospital.
Most recently, he was a substitute teacher and driving instructor with the City of Franklin Public Schools and remained until he retired.
Survivors include one son, Todd A. Majette and wife Andrea; sister, Jacqueline Carson; one grandchild, Tamara Majette; and very special friends, Peggy Joyce Majette, Richard Stewart and Gayle Stewart.
A homegoing service will be held at noon Thursday at First Baptist Church, Franklin.
The interment will be in Southview Cemetery.
On the day of service, the family will assemble at the funeral home by 11 a.m.
