Disparity issue rises to top

To the Editor:

The AIG bonus issue has pushed an issue to the top — disparity in compensation. When executives are paid in excess of 500 times what the worker gets, regardless of performance, and are guaranteed lucrative compensation with the “Golden Parachute” in place, it all hits the fan.

AIG has brought this home.

Unions are making an attempt to re-establish bargaining power. Card check is a front burner issue with labor today.

Globalization has disenfranchised the American worker at the bargaining table.

Today we have enough workers unemployed, losing their homes and desperate, to rally, unite and get at the real issue. Disparity. I pray President Obama can demonstrate leadership and rise to the occasion.
