CONWAY, N.C.—Vernia Lee Vann, 84, died March 22, 2009, at his home in the Ashley’s Grove community.
He had been preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Craig and Lillie Sumner Vann; one sister, Mary Davis; and three brothers, Andrew, Royce and James William Vann.
Mr. Vann was a native of Northampton County where he had lived and farmed all of his life. He was a good person and cared about others.
A lifelong member of Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church, he was in the Men’s 3 Sunday School Class which he loved and attended faithfully.
Survivors include five sisters, Edna Vann Butler of West Virginia, Julia Vann Fowler and Reva Vann Walton, both of Newsoms, Montie Vann Garris of Murfreesboro, N.C. and Clonnie Vann Francis of Conway; and one brother, Robert Vann of Newsoms.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. David Ross presiding.
Burial followed in the Town of Conway Cemetery.
