Ruth M. Drewery
FRANKLIN—Ruth Mayton Drewery, 89, died March 21, 2009, at Sentara Heart Hospital.
She was born in Brunswick County, a daughter of the late Joseph Clinton and Maggie Powers Mayton.
Mrs. Drewery was predeceased by three sisters, Jessie Ann Mayton, Julia Hazel Pulley, and Virginia Dare Carter.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Harry Dillard Drewery; a niece, Peggy P. Ford and her daughter, Wendy McCallum, both of Midlothian; and two nephews, Ronald Carter of New York and David Carter of Hopewell.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Lissa Eggleston officiating.
Interment followed in Capron Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Richmond Animal League, Inc., 11401 International Drive, Richmond, VA 23236-3945.
