Frank E. Johnson Sr.
RANSON, W.Va.—Frank Edward Johnson Sr., 77, died March 22, 2009, at his residence.
He was born on July 10, 1931, in Zuni, and was the son of the late John Frank Johnson and Marie Barrett Johnson.
He attended Charles Town Baptist Church.
He was a retired cable splicer with GTE and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 948 of Charles Town, the AARP and IBEW Union.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sharky Johnson, at home; one daughter, Cynthia Mong and husband George of Dunbar, W.Va.; one son, Frank E. Johnson Jr. and wife Pam of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; one sister, Virginia Vick of Franklin; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a step-daughter, Pamela Armstrong.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, W.Va. with Dr. Wyman Hall officiating.
