James B. Orick
FRANKLIN—James Benjamin “JB” Orick, 70, died March 15, 2009, in Sentara Obici Hospital.
Mr. Orick was a native of Marion, S.C., the son of the late Cleo Bradley Orick and Cleveland Orick.
He was a sheeter operator of Union Camp Corp. after 32 years of service.
He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Franklin and faithful member of Franklin Star Lodge 288.
Survivors include a son, Tony K. Leigh (Sherry) of Capron; grandchildren, Sherron Leigh and Sherrod Leigh, both of Raleigh, N.C. and Sharmaine Leigh of Capron; niece, Sherita Leigh of New Jersey; nephew, Tyrone Powell of New York; one great-niece, Shardé Singleton and one great-nephew Malcolm Powell.
He was also predeceased by a son, Jeffery Johnson; sisters, Lula Lankford and Edith Powell; and brother-in-law, Herbert Powell.
A funeral service will be held at noon today at William M. Engram Sr. Memorial Chapel, Franklin. Elder Donnie Whitfield will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be in Southview Cemetery.
