Doris E. Drew
DENDRON—Doris Evans Drew, 88, died March 16, 2009, following a long battle of illnesses.
Mrs. Drew was born May 5, 1920, to the late Burrell and Martha Evans.
She was a retiree of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Eastern State Hospital.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1951 (Surry congregation).
Survivors include a devoted husband of 69 years, Lawrence Paul Drew Sr.; a loving and devoted daughter, Doris Mozell Dorsey of Wakefield; three sons, Lawrence Paul Jr. of Waverly, Cornelius (Eliza) of Dendron, Dennis (Lula) of Maryland; daughter-in-law, Cloverrno of Maryland; 13 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Poole’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Waverly.
Arrangements are being handled by Poole’s Funeral Home.
